http://www.hungarybudapestguide.com/ and http://www.caboodle.hu/ to read info on where to go and what to see. We will be staying on the Buda side of the Danube, close to the river and not far from the Chain Bridge over to the Pest side. Here are some of the sights...
Fisherman's Bastion
St Stephen's Basilica
It all looks wonderful, architecturally and otherwise. It will be nice going in June (I hope). We went to Prague in December 2007 and it was flipping freezing, though good to see the Christmas market in the Old Town. Last year we had ten days in Malta and we fell in love with the place. I would love to go back there one day, especially to see their lovely city, Valletta where we spent many happy hours. The temperature was quite high though and it was uncomfortable especially for me, as I had recently started the menopause....not a place to be having hot flushes!!
These are the gardens we used to go to, to cool off after sightseeing in Valletta. The view here was fantastic. We sat under the olive trees, watching small green lizards dart up and down
I remember us being stopped here by a young lad who said that he needed some money to phone...something about a lost passport, but we didn't believe him. I suppose you get these scammers everywhere. We had some guy in Prague who asked for money and was even willing to accompany K to the bank to get it!!
The last pic is another of our 'resting places' in the centre of Valletta, next to the Palace. There are benches there now and a bit of welcome shade. Roll on June!!
